I just received this in one of my tech newletters and thought it worth sharing with others. Notice the importance of planning.
I friend of mine from KES, Leisa Harrell, had a saying that I loved:"Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance." She called it the 5P's. Makes sense, especially after you've had a bad day in the classroom, and you didn't spend too much time on your plans the week before.

1. Plan, Plan, Plan - develop a plan; implement your plan; and monitor your plan.
2. Check your calendar - what needs to be done when and by whom.
3. Use your time wisely in preparing for students.
4. Plan a back to school celebration for your colleagues and others who work with you in providing services to students.
5. Invite students and their parents to school for an opening celebration prior to the start of school.
6. Assure students that you will work for their success.
7. Assure parents that you will work for the success of their children.
8. Visit your students’ homes or neighborhoods - be visible.
9. Create an inviting classroom climate.
10. Reflect on your plan development and implementation as you monitor it.
